The previous deletion of this article was overturned at deletion review on May 25, 2010. It was decided that the reasons for the previous deletion (ex. the film had not begun casting yet) no longer applied, since the film is now in production.--ParisianBlade (talk) 21:50, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The image File:Courageous.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

References

[edit]

The references in this article need to be cleaned up significantly. I just tried a hand at fixing some of it, but there's still work that needs to be done by people with more knowledge of the subject. One issue is (was) that all the newer references were titled "Herald" so they all collapsed under the same reference, even though they were 5-7 different links/articles. I have removed the name for them; they do not appear to be used more than once each, but if they are, please rename them appropriately.

The other issue that needs to be addressed right now is that three difference references all link to the Orlando Sent. review of the film. Only one is supposed to; the other two should be linked to the proper articles. only (talk) 11:43, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Snap, that's all my fault. I've fixed the duplicate URLs, and will double-check everything tonight when I have more time. My apologies. American Eagle (talk) 18:00, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Reception needs to be more balanced. All positive reviews were left out, therefore reception is in need of expansion with at least two less negative reviews of the film. On a positive note, adding any two of the following reviews are necessary to counter negative bias in the media:
  1. The Dove Foundation gives Courageous 5 Doves http://dove.org/reviewpopup.asp?Unique_ID=8944
  2. Focus On The Family's Plugged In Online 4.5 out of 5 Stars http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/intheaters/courageous.aspx
  3. Kam Williams "Excellent" rating! http://newsblaze.com/story/20110922145836kamw.nb/topstory.html
  4. Movieguide Online Movie Reviews gives Courageous Highest Excellent Rating http://movieguide.org/reviews/movie/courageous.html
I have seen this film more than just about any person in the world at roughly nine viewings. This film will more than likely be distributed around the world in more than 75 countries and more than 27 languages. This film has an A+ Cinemascore. One of only 3 films in 2011. Many exit polls and twitter feeds show moviegoers find this to be "The best film of the year in 2011" and in some cases "The best film they have ever seen." Wikipedia should address the high quality and the demand for this film by referencing all of the notable critics which were overlooked. You will find these listed above. Otherwise, there is a risk of appearing biased to many 10 of millions of people around the world. For my review of the film, go to Sherwood Pictures at http://twitter.com/sherwoodchurch! You will find me listed twice @AmForChrist. The producers of the film posted my review opening day! Sept. 30 2011

I transcribed the following from Adam R. Holz Plugged In Online's video review of Courageous. Adam R. Holz of Plugged In Online said Courageous is a film consisting of "A compelling story line with plenty of action and just the right amount of humor. The Film underscores the importance of fatherhood....plus I like how it creatively weaves in the Gospel. I am happily giving Courageous 4.5 shiny badges out of 5 for family friendliness." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lampstand49 (talkcontribs) 10:35, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary

[edit]

Can someone who has seen the movie write up a full plot summary? I can do it, but it may take me awhile to get around to it since I've been busy. NYyankees51 (talk) 02:35, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see if I have time tomorrow. Niteshift36 (talk) 03:44, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've added one. It may need some copyediting though. --Boycool (talk) 04:57, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
