Infobox

[edit]

That template-dependant infobox is wrong, wrong, wrong. The map may be valid for the county until circa 1890, but the county continued in use, as a local government area, with altered boundaries until 1975. The box does not indicate whether the other details relate to the county until circa 1890 or the county circa 1890 to 1975. I intend to remove the box. Box is now removed. Laurel Bush (talk) 15:07, 18 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]

If you look at the text it is fairly clear that it is the c. 1890 version. ( I don't know yet if this can be made explicit in the box.) However, even if it cannot surely some indication of the location and extent in map form is better than nothing? Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 19:04, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removing it is certainly not the best course of action. It is ostensibly about the county-at-large, not the local government county. I suggest that the infobox is restored! Owain (talk) 19:11, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
'Tis done. Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 19:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That infobox is absurd. SeeTemplate talk:Infobox Scotland county. Laurel Bush (talk) 14:09, 19 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]
