"firm value"

The article refers to "firm value". I am wondering if someone can define it. I would define it as the market value of equity and debt, but as Kuru noted, in a private corp., there may not be a market. Without a market, how is market value defined and how is firm value defined? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sigiheri (talkcontribs) 19:42, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Good point. I don't think it's possible without input from the marketplace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisyfi (talkcontribs) 00:30, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Should "Dividend policy" be changed to "Payout policy"?

Dividend are usually used for "chash dividends", they are synonyms. Could it make it easier to understand if we used payout policy? Johnson0101 (talk) 00:56, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
