wow the German article on this is profound- absolutely huge- if only someone would translate some of it to English. The berry of this tree is very important in Bulgaria, and its wood is very prised too, apparently its root system is great for preventing soil erosion as well - such an important tree wow —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.25.180.103 (talk) 17:07, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Gordian Knot

[edit]

I came here from the wiki page on the Gordian Knot. Evidently, it consisted of an intricate knot of Cornel bark. Finding this interesting, I followed to European Cornel... but there wasn't anything about Alexander the Great here, or tieing knots. Should it be added? I'm rather aware that this comes rather close to being trivia. The part that I'm interested in, though, is whether one can make an effective knot out of it. (Also, I'm a bit spotty on if that is relevant as well. Are things that something is not appropriate for Wikipedia? For example, the article on snakes doesn't say that they can not bite their tail and roll down hills after their prey, like it was believed in old Aztec myths. Geez. I seem to be arguing with myself quite a bit.) Jmgariepy (talk) 10:06, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
