FYI
[edit]There's no need to link to the article on meals, nor is there any need for the template mentioning the "main article." For some reason, I cannot remove these myself. --Jitterro 23:20, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Corned beef and cabbage / New England Boiled Dinner
[edit]Maybe we need to split again. Corned beef and cabbage is corned beef and cabbage, New England boiled dinner is never just those two items, and adding turnip and carrot and parsnip to corned beef and cabbage makes it a different dish. But perhaps my real reason for this comment is that I have a beautiful picture of presentation of a New England boiled dinner, taken by myself, and it seems not to be appropriate as an illustration to corned beef and cabbage! --Dumarest 11:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have rethought this. Looking at a number of recipes for New England boiled dinner, I see that it is commonly called corned beef and cabbage. That is maybe the commonest terminology, but the real thing is NOT corned beef and cabbage but has other vegetables in it and corned beef and cabbage is a variety of the boiled dinner. I am thinking of changing things - have 'Corned beef and cabbage' refer to 'New England boiled dinner', which will be the new title of this item or copy what is here into the existing edited 'New England boiled dinner' Comments welcome, if anyone will. --Dumarest 18:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- So done. --Dumarest 19:15, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
