Purpose
[edit]I have created this page as a disambiguation page in response to a concern at talk:Cork (city)#Confusion_between_county_and_city that some of the links that used to point to the article about the city at the name of Cork could have been intended to be vague between the city and county, but "fixing" the link to Cork (city) could introduce an impression of accuracy that is not appropriate. This page becomes an appropriate target for links that claim some historic figure was "born in Cork", without having to be specific whether it is the city or the county where that information is not known.
At this stage, I don't know how to decide which of the links to Cork (city) or County Cork are not intended to be precise and should better link to Cork, Ireland instead. --Scott Davis Talk 13:30, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Cork, Ireland should link straight to Cork (city), in my opinion. "Dublin, Ireland" also goes straight to the city.^^^^
