Etymologies
[edit]The French etymologies look less convincing than they might because of my ignorance of Old French. E.g. corps béni is in Old French something like cor benoit, which is a lot closer to Corbenic, especially when you consider that in mediaeval writing, 't's and 'c's were easily confused (according to R.S. Loomis anyway, who promotes the 'blessed body/horn' explanation). Any palaeofrancophones care to correct? — Franey 10:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
looks more like a breton/cornish spelling - 'of the crow' as in the welsh given — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.151.149.213 (talk) 17:40, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- None of it has proper sourcing, so it's best not to put much stock in it.Cúchullain t/c 18:55, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
