Reaction of Copper powder with Hydrobromic acid

[edit]

Copper powder cannot react with a nonoxidizing acid, such as HBr, HCl, HI, or any other hydro acid. The H+ ion is not strong enough to oxidize the Cu to Cu+. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 21:40, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
