In regards to the redirect to the Asian carp#Copi renaming page: The are a couple of reasons why Copi should be its own entry. “Asian carp” is in fact only a slang name – it is not a formal name for the species. Up until now it did not have a formal name. The name “Copi” has been adopted by the Environmental Protection Agency as well as governmental ecologists, the fish and wildlife community, the media, and the American restaurant and grocery store industry as the formal name of this species of carp. See the references and links in the draft entry. There are many examples on Wikipedia of similar food renaming. For example, Orange Ruffy is its own unique entry because that is how the fish is now widely known, but it used to be called Slimehead. Other foods such as Avocado or Chilean Sea Bass, for instance, also have their own unique entry even though they used to go by other names. With that in mind, Copi should be its own entry, especially in consideration that in the coming years Copi will become a widely used and known term in the culture (on restaurant menus, in grocery stores, etc.), and at some point someone will no doubt submit Copi again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leighcn (talk • contribs) 17:30, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
