Conservation
What does it mean: there is "no evidence" of "quantifiable" adverse impact on the beluga population? Are there 1) no scientific studies on the subject or 2) does a study exist, which does not result in clear evidence? In the first case this sentence does not give any further information. --Olaf g 12:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Nuti
What does "Nuti" in the first sentence mean? I grew up on Cook Inlet and am nearing 60 years of age and I have never heard that word. At a minimum, it should be defined in the article for those who have not heard the word. I personally suggest deleting it, or moving it to another part of the article where the word can be explained. wleman (talk) 19:40, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Estuary
I question whether Cook Inlet is actually an estuary as stated in the first sentence. It is an inlet. An estuary is not as large or deep or open to the ocean as an inlet, as far as I know. wleman (talk) 19:44, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Links redirected back to the same page?
I've seen this before in other Wikipedia articles, and never know what sense it makes:
In the second sentence, both Knik Arm and Turnagain Arm have links that get redirected back to this same Cook Inlet article. Does this make any sense to anyone? Is there some sort of policy about this? I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and it's been bothering me, so I had to ask. Ratmangxa (talk) 05:37, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- It doesn't make sense, and I've undone the links.[1] The redirects were created nearly six years ago, and as far as I can tell there never have been articles on Knick and Turnagain. If you see this in other articles you can simply remove the links by editing the page and removing the double brackets around the linked word. I also bolded the two terms so that users who typed in one of those terms and were redirected here would know they got the right page. Beeblebrox (talk) 05:57, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'd done that once before in another article, but seeing it again here made me want to get some sort of validation about this course of action. Of course, it would probably to better to actually write articles about those subjects, but short of that, I'm glad to see my instincts were correct! Ratmangxa (talk) 00:21, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Tides — not the fourth highest!
This fourth highest business is lazy- there are higher tides for sure in baie de mont st. michel , france and I think in kimberley, australia too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.155.155.104 (talk) 08:38, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
