A fact from Convention of London (1786) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 6 March 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Footnote 2 appears to be wrong. William Pitts son did NOT lead the British abandonment of the Black River, it was James Lawrie who was then Superintendant of the Black River settlement who supervised the end of British occupation there. Most went to Belize (then called Walis) and Lawrie became the largest slave owner in that settlement. 69.12.223.195 (talk) 23:59, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
