What happened to the giant trumpet on I've Got a Secret?
[edit]In a May 1962 episode of I've Got a Secret there's a massive contrabass trumpet in 18' B♭, announced as loaned from "the Jansen collection of musical instruments at Claremont College University".[1] This collection had languished underfunded in storage at the university's Fiske Museum and was sold in 2008, despite protests from staff, to a new museum being built in Arizona.[2] This museum opened as the massive Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix in 2010, so if the instrument has survived intact, that's probably where it resides today.[3] Do we have any Phoenician Wikipedians who could get in there and take a photo of it for us?! :-) — Jon (talk) 02:40, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
