Merge
[edit]Should this content be merged into a different article, or perhaps renamed? The (future) tag seems confusing and will become misleading when the merger completes. --Torchwood Who? (talk) 06:07, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- I recommend make this article about merge of airlines, like Delta Air Lines-Northwest Airlines merger. Future name will be United, so all contents about company, left in United Airlines, again because Delta Air Lines. EGroup (talk) 10:48, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
I disagree, because the United Airlines page should stay about the current carrier aka the Tulip United. This page can be used for the future merged carrier. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.187.252.143 (talk) 03:16, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand why the controversy surrounding the new United's logo on the internet has a whole section devoted to it, while the pending anti-trust lawsuit in San Francisco isn't mentioned at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.209.170.26 (talk) 11:54, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
This should absolutely be merged, per the precedent set by Delta. You don't create a new article based on a logo change -- MichiganCharms (talk) 00:33, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
I think that this paged should definitely be merged with the original United Airlines page after Continental and United begin operating under one operating certificate. Technically, United and Continental are separate operating airlines owned by the same company.--Pinkfan9999 (talk) 22:42, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Urgent: Can someone please discuss Continental Micronesia → United Micronesia?
[edit]Comments here please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.216.93 (talk) 05:49, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
This article in a mess
[edit]The title of this article is "Continental-United Airlines merger", yet most of the content is only relevant to United Airlines or United Continental Holdings (parent company of United Airlines and Continental Airlines.)
This article should use Delta Air Lines-Northwest Airlines merger as a guide. ie, only content about the merger. Everything else (eg airline hubs and fleet) is information that should be included in other articles, such as United Continental Holdings or United Airlines or Continental Airlines. Gfcvoice (talk) 12:12, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Jonathanchu1, there are other articles in Wikipedia: United Continental Holdings (the holding company of United Airlines and Continental Airlines United Airlines (the airline) Continental Airlines (the airline).
As I see it, the Continental-United Airlines merger article is about the historical event which was the merger of UAL Corporation (former parent of United Airlines) and Continential Airlines.
Therefore information about branding, hubs and fleet are only relevant to the holding company article (United Continental Holdings) or the articles or the individual airlines (United Airlines and Continental Airlines). Also the infobox doesn't really make sense because a merger is a historical event, and it doesn't have a callsign or hubs. Gfcvoice (talk) 11:05, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
