History of Constructive Theology

I note that the use of the term "Constructive" in relation to theology goes back to the late 19th century, and the writings of (amongst others) Alfred Ernest Garvie (1861-1945) - for a list of books see COPAC. In particular there was a series called "The Library of Constructive Theology" published by Nisbet & Co Ltd from the 1920s to the early 1960s, at one time edited jointly ^[1] by Walter Robert Matthews, who studied under Garvie, and Henry Wheeler Robinson.

Since the current Wikipedia article (as at 10 Feb 2017) seems to refer solely to more modern developments, it would be good to know whether the earlier usage refers to the same thing.--PeterR2 (talk) 15:42, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
