Talented?
[edit]I wonder about the remark in "Trivia" about the supposed Asian American stereotype of being talented in many areas; there is no evidence that Connie has any particular talent for the violin, it's just that she's hardworking and practices a lot. Anyone could learn to play an instrument well with enough practice, even if they didn't have a scrap of musical talent. George Stroumboulopoulos 01:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- In one episode she plays Bluegrass with Hank and the gang quite well, even improvising at points, yet it's established she had never practiced that style before that episode. I think it's fair to say she's talented at the violin, even if she's not a Sarah Chang or an Alison Krauss.(as I mentioned bluegrass) However her speaking three languages is not particularly remarkable considering her parents at times speak Laotian at home and she was raised in the US. I think her grades is where it's more hardwork than anything. I don't think I've seen an episode where she knows more than her teachers or gets an A with only minimal studying. There's also been episodes where her family goes against the model-minority typecast that they originally had, like when they live as rednecks or fall for really stupid "get rich" schemes. This is less true of Connie, but she did have an interest in wrestling and as mentioned bluegrass.--T. Anthony 09:28, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Birthplace
[edit]Was Connie born in Anaheim or Orange County? On Minh's page it lists her birthplace as Orange County.--Grant the Wise 00:43, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Name Spelling
[edit]I believe it's spelled Kahnnie.
Trivia section
[edit]"Connie's full name is Constance as revealed in the Season 1 DVD commentary by Peggy Hill." I don't know if this can be considered a real "reveal." Peggy Hill is, usually, portrayed as believing she knows more than she does. It's possible her saying that Connie full name is "Constance", even in a DVD commentary, is a kind of joke about Peggy Hill.--T. Anthony 05:48, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Pimai Neighbor.JPG
[edit]Image:Pimai Neighbor.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
