Vandalization/removal of Confederate monuments

[edit]

I removed the reference to other incidents, finding that I had not recalled the WA Post article accurately. It referred to other incidents across the South of vandalization of Confederate monuments during the last several years, and also to removal of monuments, as some cities such as New Orleans, or universities, have done. I think the topic needs an article of its own, but don't have time to undertake it right now. More articles have been published on popular resistance to maintenance of Confederate monuments, particularly since such violent incidents as the mass shooting in Charleston, and death at a protest in Charlottesville, associated with proponents of white supremacy. There is much to the subject.Parkwells (talk) 17:18, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
