Homeport

[edit]

According to the first of the external links accessed today (30 June 2008)[1] the S.V. Concordia's "Current location: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia - Home Port", not Barbados. Can someone get a definitive answer to this? Emeraude (talk) 15:16, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I found from a separate source. I've added an infobox but the article needs more structure. Mjroots2 (talk) 16:01, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If one follows Wikipedia's definition of home port, Lunenberg, NS never has been SV Concordia's home port. Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 21:40, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've no objection to the homeport being removed from the infobox. Port of registry is a far more important piece of information. Mjroots (talk) 06:35, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we can use the Navy's definition of home port, as that adds info, but if someone else wants to remove it, no problem. Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 17:44, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the homeport from the article. I think that it does not really add to the article. Mjroots (talk) 08:59, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia and most mariners define homeport home port as "the port at which a ship is based, which may not be the same as its port of registry". Concordia was based out of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia as noted in numerous news reports. Given that this was the community where she started and ended her voyages and where most of the crew were hired, it is relevant to the article.Letterofmarque (talk) 02:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
