The initial content of this page is from my own personal experiences of Compunet - a long time ago now! It was all good up until I got the first phone bill... - Mewcenary 09:40, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Made some additional remarks- could make more!- Where are you Dave and Mike, Jason, Jane, Alan, Graham and Robert? Let's have your reminiscences. Surely Dave P. is right when he calls us the precursor to the web. Rather more elegant, of course. Maybe we should do it all again so people can use their PCs with the web more easily.

Immediate barrister intervention failed despite £250,000 of debt asset.

What does this mean? "Debt asset" seems like an oxymoron to my non-specialist brain. Loganberry (Talk) 01:17, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that is odd seeming. We had debts from old users that added up to £250,000 before I took management control. Without a running service these could probably not be collected. In accounting terms debts, money owed to companies, are assets. --Nick Green 02:10, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Port to the new server was quite problematic. I seem to recall that Compunet was offline for at least a month

Some mention of the staff should be made Jane Firbank was Compunet's editor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.128.100.98 (talk) 15:46, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What was actually on Compunet? The article isn't very clear. How was it similar to (or how did it differ from) the modern Internet? --Thoughtcat 16:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
