Comprehensive Child Development Bill → Comprehensive Child Development Act – New page title already exists as a redirect (to the current page title). @Lord Bolingbroke: While it is true that the term "act" generally refers to a passed bill, the names of bills are almost always "X Act" and not "X Bill". For instance, the For the People Act has not been passed, so it is a bill and not an act. But because the name of the bill is the "For the People Act" the title of the page for it is "For the People Act". Similarly, in this case the name of the bill is the "Comprehensive Child Development Act", and I assumed it was general practice to refer to bills by their names. If this is controversial, however, then perhaps there should be further discussion on it. Jaydavidmartin (talk) 03:40, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support. I get seven times as many ghits for Comprehensive Child Development Act as for Comprehensive Child Development Bill and that is not even checking to see which are more recent, one would expect the ones for Act to be more recent so WP:NAMECHANGES becomes relevant. In the absence of any evidence that Bill is still more common, which seems most unlikely anyway as it has now officially been an Act ever since 1971 and was only a Bill for a short time, it seems a no-brainer to me.
