Historical context
[edit]This article could do with:
- Mentioning when Wayland superseded Composite (i.e. when the main distros switched or when gnome/kde switched),
- Explain what functionality Composite enabled that wasn’t readily achievable previously (transparent terminal windows, rounded window shapes, 3D transition effects, etc).
- Convey some measure of how widespread the peak adoption of Composite was.
