Writing style
[edit]The writing style for this article is bad. Alone the two headings On the surface and Taking a (slightly) closer look are out of style let alone the various expressions that the author has used such as However, the underlying libraries are vastly different and the dream of recompiling for the .NET target should be quickly forgotten or One of the true banes of a Visual Basic developer's life has always been writing resize code, or The lazy developer will have to learn to declare her variables and the more pedantic developer will have an easier time debugging the code of his lazy co-worker. etc. The article needs major re-work. Currently it feels more like a homework assignment than a Wiki article.--Rbaleksandar (talk) 18:51, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
I have to disagree with the "homeword assignment" evaluation. While I understand that the style does not match Wikipedia's preferred (required?) style, I personally found the information in the article to be just what I was looking for and would hate to lose such helpful info because of the way it was written. Of course, if someone takes cares enough about style to rewrite the article without losing any of the info in it, that would be the best of both worlds; otherwise, I would like to see this article stay. 173.216.178.98 (talk) 23:14, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
I agree with Rbaleksandar; the style is too informal and not in keeping with the standards of Wikipedia. All of this could have been conveyed in a formal style with no information loss. 115.188.166.157 (talk) 04:13, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
this article needs a major rewrite, the writing style is very bad for an encyclopaedia article, it resembles an opinion blog post. Sofia Koutsouveli 2005 (talk) 04:09, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
