Content: - Presently there is no introductory paragraph - consider adding definition, explanation before getting into the history. - Review content and sentences that don't have citations - the sentence re: working with faith communities being advantageous. We suggest citations for a few sentences that could potentially be argued to fit the encyclopedia content criteria. - We love that you have a list of organizations that are doing this work! Maybe consider inserting hyperlinks to these organization's websites. - We enjoyed the section on characteristics of working with immigrant communities and we found this information helpful. If you have any more characteristics or guidance for readers, we think you should add that! - Maybe add some information on Hull House and their work with immigrant communities to the history section? - Consider linking your page to Community Organizing page (in order to get more traffic on your page). - Think of some critiques of current immigrant organizing efforts in order to stay neutral and objective. - Consider including examples of prominent organizers in your field and linking to their pages as well. Figures: - Presently the post does not have an original figure. Some potential ideas: table showing early immigration data, table or graph showing current immigration data (supporting why it is important to work with these communities), any images? Citations: - Rubric calls for 6 citations - Be sure to complete the citations so that way the appropriateness of them can be shown. - Current citations need to be formatted (look at slides 24-30) Miscellaneous: - Be sure to proofread the article for grammatical errors. We'd be happy to review a copy of the article to get another set of eyes on it. Eekornfe (talk) 00:01, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Adding in an Introduction
[edit]Based on prior conversations on the Talk page, it is apparent that an introduction paragraph is needed before diving into the history of community organizing within immigrant communities. I plan to make reference to Michael Katz because he brought up good points regarding grassroots/community organizations and their role in combating different aspects of poverty. I also plan to add in citations where needed based on readings I used for an essay I worked on for GPP 105. Sunflower110902 (talk) 18:38, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
