"Confirmed bachelor"?

Around here the term "confirmed bachelor" is used as a polite substitute for "homosexual." Is this just idiomatic to my region, or has the term's use in this article struck any other readers as inappropriate?

cobb and sinatra

Sinatra, who played Cobb's son in the film, was exactly four years and four day older than his on-screen father (Dec. 12, 1915 birth for Sinatra vs. Dec. 8, 1911 birth for Cobb).Maccb (talk) 17:01, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
