Map of Colony Ridge

The maps can be compared to Cleveland ISD's attendance boundaries (elementary and middle school, as so far there is only one high school in Cleveland ISD). Published secondary sources usually do not clarify exactly which schools in a community are the ones for it (attendance boundaries are drawn by the school district and not by the community itself), so it is necessary to compare attendance boundaries to community boundaries. Precision in accuracy is important on Wikipedia, and usually comparisons are so apparent that it is like the maxim that simple math does not count as Wikipedia:Original research. Recent editing

Recent edits by Texasfirsttoo (here, and repeated here and here) have added non-neutral content to the article. Rather than risk engaging in an edit war myself, I am bringing the matter here for resolution. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 17:49, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

All of the information added is factual, neutral and in compliance. The websites linked are legitimate websites from the Department of Justice and the NY Post. There was a lot of misinformation on this page, starting with calling Colony Ridge and area, when it is a company. It repeatedly mentions Texas Monthly and only publications that follow a narrative crafted by the company's PR campaign. Even makes attributes "conspiracy theories" one particular event. The Department of Justice would not go after this company based on conspiracy theories. Unless you are on the developer's payroll, you should be okay with the neutral corrections. @Texasfirsttoo: Your reliance on right-wing news outlets leads me to doubt your claim of neutrality. Yes, the Department of Justice has opened a lawsuit and investigation against this company, but that investigation has not yet concluded, and it defamatory to claim they have done anything wrong until they have been tried and convicted in a court of law. I get it that you don't agree with their way of doing business, and I get that because of the lack of neutrality in your editing. This is why Wikipedia has a neutrality policy in the first place. If you and I are unable to come to an agreement on this, I will need to take this issue to the neutrality noticeboard for administrators to sort out. If you think the DOJ website is a right wing website, I don’t know what to tell you. There is no claim about what they have done. Facts about their sales process and about the lawsuit that is in place are just that, facts. It’s part of the history of Colony Ridge. If you don’t agree with CFPB and DOJ using language as “bait-and-switch sales and predatory financing” you are going to have to take it out with the federal government.  You not being okay with any news that doesn’t lean “left” makes me doubt your claim of being concerned over neutrality. Neutrality means there is a balance.

There are also many claims that need to be corrected such as the amount they have donated to the governor, who happens to lean right and other people are working on correcting this. I suggest you do not take it personal because this is not what Wikipedia is about unless you are getting paid to do this.

Administrators in the neutrality noticeboard are more than welcome to look into this.

@Texasfirsttoo: The lead, as it currently stands, expresses open hostility toward Colony Ridge, in violation of WP:NPOV. I propose the following replacement to attempt to fix the issue while still retaining the fact that Colony Ridge is controversial:

Colony Ridge is a Texas-based corporation that has developed a collection of subdivisions in unincorporated Liberty County, Texas, United States, in the Houston metropolitan area. The subdivisions are approximately 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Downtown Houston. As of 2023, most of the residents were of Latin American descent.

Colony Ridge has been accused of using predatory lending practices to entice Hispanic immigrants (both documented and undocumented) to buy land in their developments.

I agree that it is appropriate to bring Colony Ridge's legal issues to the lead of the article, since this is what is mostly notable about the company. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 13:16, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Single purpose accounts

This article has drawn a number of single-purpose accounts lately (Texasfirsttoo, Giddyupp, Wikititan54) whose purpose appears to be to denigrate the company that founded and sells property in this development. To be sure, the US Department of Justice has questioned the developers' sales tactics, and that investigation is ongoing, but in the interest of neutrality, we must not assume guilt before any has been adjudicated. If this issue can't be resolve here on this talk page (and my guess from the above section is that it cannot) I will move the matter to the neutral point of view noticeboard. Facts are facts and they are neutral. You are not interested in neutrality. You are instead focused on twisting the truth. There are other agencies investigating this company such as the IRS, EPA, among agencies, as documented in the NY Post. The City of Houston is also investigating them. We'll know about the resolution once it is done. But as of today they are accused by the Federal Government and neither the right wing or the left wing is happy this.
