No "Barnaby"!

[edit]

"Barnaby" was CB's creation as a name for his literary novels (as opposed to his "shockers"); I'm not sure where you might have found a source that says otherwise, but I can assure you that he was just William Collin Brooks! (He's related to me or vice versa) :o) As a matter of interest, the family hsa recently made an agreement with WMUK to scan, OCR, and release all the rest of his private Journals, plus a heap of other stuff of his, to Wikisource. That's going to be a wonderful load of historical source material for other Wikipedians; the pages, stacked up, come to well over 6ft tall ... what a lot of scanning, lol!
