Charles J Colgan

[edit]

I made Charles J. Colgan a link to the page of the same name. Charles J. Colgan is both the owner of this company and a member of Virginia's senate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.48.240.189 (talkcontribs) 21:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC-8)

DC

[edit]

The heading District of Columbia area needs to be renamed to Washington, DC (although DC is technically not a state it flows better for the purposes of this oddly formatted listing). -DCA (Washington National) needs to be moved under the proposed heading of Washington, DC with the extraneous information about Arlington county removed; if edits were made. it would be appropriate to add a note to see also IAD/Dulles under Virginia -IAD (Dulles) needs to moved under Virginia airports with the extraneous information regarding Fairfax and Loundon counties removed

Does anyone know how to contact this company directly please email me butterflyz4u02@yahoo.com jennifer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.44.121 (talk) 02:11, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On 9/11, was Mohamed Atta on flight 5930 or 4930 ?

[edit]

The article states that "On September 11, 2001 Mohamed Atta, and fellow hijacker, Abdulaziz al-Omari boarded Colgan Air Flight 4930". However, on the American Airlines Flight 11 page, it states that "They boarded Colgan Air Flight 5930". Which one is it, 4930 or 5930? Oclupak (talk) 18:08, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Given the uncertainty, and the fact the paragraph is unsourced, I have removed it. I also feel that which feeder flight the 2 hijackers took may be encyclopedic in an article about the Sept 2001 events, but is not encyclopedic in the article on the airline itself, 8 1/2 years after the fact. Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Colgan Air. Please take a moment to review my edit. Buffalo crash 2009

[edit]

The crash of Colgan Air 3407 was put down to pilot error, but the history of the flight's two pilots revealed a shocking picture of underqualified, deeply underpaid pilots, who typically grab some sleep in pilot lounges at the airport of their next departure or sleep at nearby "crash pads." (The copilot on that flight, which was out of Newark, for Continental AL, a person with scant flight experience, also commuted in stages from her home in Seattle). it is no exaggeration to say that the pay structure of the regionals at that time (as to the present, I am not qualified to judge) was the basic cause of what turned into "pilot error." It is a standard industry deflection, and not specific to airlines, to blame the workforce for decisions made by management, often related to pay and hours (See Exxon Valdez) (and then there are questions of maintenance, and hazardous payloads [see Valuejet]).
