Fair use rationale for Image:Bjorkcocoon.jpg

[edit]

Image:Bjorkcocoon.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Covers

[edit]

I've changed the covers of place because the cover 2 is the official cover used in Björk's official webpage. --Quaveren (talk) 18:40, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my name is CaliforniaDreamsFan, and I'll be reviewing your article! Full review coming soon, so stay tuned

Infobox

[edit]
  • Add an alt to the cover.
  • Not being nerdy, but I know that "Cocoon" has more than one artwork, so add a caption that defines the cover you've added.
I think it fails WP:NFCC#8
  • Again, not being nerdy, but "Cocoon" also serves a digital release, so add that in the formats.
  • Remove certification part.

Lead section

[edit]
  • "Björk set to make a record with a domestic mood" — current tense in comparison to "inspired by the work of....". Say something like "Inspired by her relationship with artist Matthew Barney, Björk wanted to make a record with a domestic mood."
  • Remove "a song" after lyrically.
  • It's good that you've added charting performances of the UK and Spain, but there are two extra charts here in the article. Say something like, "It experienced moderate commercial success in record charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, and France, but reached the top 10 in Spain."

Background

[edit]
  • I don't see the relevance of this section on the article or about the song. It would make sense for the parent album or the lead single from the record cause it briefly explains the "background" of the entire session, but this the third release, so I don't get why it's here. You could probably mention it briefly int he development section, but it doesn't really work with the article.

Development

[edit]
  • Add a reference after the quote of the producer.
  • "They met up in January 2001 in London to record the song at Olympic Studios." — Any references? You could add a AV media notes reference here (for CD releases, etc.)
  • For further statements, if you have any other quoted sentences, make sure there is a reference at the end.
  • Who describes the "kind of rough" recording? Bjork or Knak?
  • The rest is well-written!

Composition

[edit]
  • Apart from Bjork, is there any publication or critic(s) that describe the track as glitch music?
  • As mentioned above, if you have any other quoted sentences, make sure there is a reference at the end.
  • Everything else is well written!

Reception

[edit]
  • Say something broad about the commercial success at the start of the second paragraph, such as "It experienced moderate commercial success in record charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, and France, but reached the top 10 in Spain."
I think a more detailed sentence about the charts is good to the article, by the way
  • Who describes it as "One of Björk's most avant-garde music videos"? Define this please.
  • Again, who says that it was "as controversial as the "Pagan Poetry" music video"? Define this.
  • Who considered it "polemic"?
  • The rest is fine!

Track listing

[edit]
  • Change title to "Track listings and formats"
  • I'm not trying to be nerdy yet again, but I'm pretty sure there are a couple more track lists of the single release (a major factor of being covered with part 3 of WP:GA criteria.
  • Split it into two divided columns.

Credits

[edit]
  • Identify the recording whereabouts, other notes if neccesary, etc.
  • Split it into two divided columns.

References

[edit]
  • Make sure your usage of dates are consistent (I see some going Date Month Year, then Month Date, Year).
[edit]
  • I see a reference of the song on Bjork's website; add it here as well since its pretty specific a vital of the track itself.
