Ongoing additions of promotional material (including, without limitation, "sustainability"-related content)
[edit]Please do not continue adding unencyclopedic, promotional material to this article in Coca-Cola's voice. There are several problems with this content.
- First, Wikipedia is not a webhost, it's an encyclopedia. This company presumably has its own website, and that is the appropriate place for this material, not Wikipedia.
- Second, the material isn't neutral. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, neutrally written in the voice of the encyclopedia, not of any particular contributor.
- Third, the material is clearly contributed under a conflict of interest, with no attempts being made to comply with Wikipedia's COI guidelines despite my having alerted the contributor to this issue via user talk page.
- Fourth, in addition to being non-neutral, the material is overtly promotional, which is inappropriate for an encyclopedia.
- Fifth, the material isn't based on a reliable published source, as Wikipedia requires for all contributions.
- Sixth, the material appears likely to violate a copyright.
Please take some time to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies and procedures before you add any more material to this article, especially if the material refers to the company in the first person as "We"... That kind of material doesn't belong on Wikipedia, for all the reasons listed above and more. Just because this is "the encyclopedia anyone can edit" doesn't mean there aren't rules, and it also doesn't mean that all content is appropriate. - Not only was it pure advertising, it was a copyright violation. See below. Voceditenore (talk) 18:07, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Copyright problem removed
[edit]Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: https://www.coca-colafemsa.com/sustainability.html and https://www.coca-colafemsa.com/assets/files/es/Sostenibilidad/Coca-Cola-FEMSA-Sustainability-Report-2015.pdf. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)
For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, providing it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 18:07, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
