Flight Refuelling's Meteor

[edit]

Just a bit of trivia for anyone who's interested, there's a brief close-up head-on shot of Flight Refuelling's probe-equipped Gloster Meteor in the opening shots of the film Dr. Strangelove. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.40.250.59 (talk) 22:38, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Change of name or organisational structure?

[edit]

It is not clear when FRL became Cobham; thus, when the article states that Cobham bought MLA, it is not clear if it was Cobham plc or some descendant of the founder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.219.132.105 (talk) 11:37, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Self-sourced material

[edit]

This article contains a large amount of self-sourced material (press releases and links to company websites) which need to be replaced by WP:RS or by a Wikipedia:Citation_needed tag. --Bye for now (talk) 21:24, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Now replaced with independent references. Dormskirk (talk) 20:42, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

More destruction of content by "acquisition"

[edit]

I wish Wikipedia editors would think thrice before trashing old wikipedia entries because an entity was gobbled up by another one. I linked hoping to find out about Thrane and Thrane, a Danish tech company. That entry has now been redirected to Cobham and any information about Thrane and Thrane is gone. Would it not be better to leave entries in place and simply provide a link from the old entry via a "[x] was acquired by {link} Cobham in [year]"? The past shouldn't disappear because it was purchased by someone else. Cellmaker (talk) 20:02, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
