New article
[edit]Hello all ... I created this article today. I should inform you that I'm a fairly new editor... so it would be nice if some of you could check to see how the article looks on your screen, and do any necessary editing etc.. Also we need a disambiguation to distinguish the Biblical coat of many colors from this. Thanks! :)

Pardon me, my mistake. I guess in my desire to contribute something to the encyclopedia, I didn't realize there were appropriate links to the Dolly Parton album this song finds itself on on the page for the Biblical coat of many colors. Though maybe there might be a use for the disambiguation at some point, and I hope I used the appropriate code in creating it. ;D --Black Lab 23:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC) ITS HERE NOW IF ANYONE WANTS TO USE IT TO ADD MORE STUFF!
Lyrics
[edit]- I think that the lyrics to this song are still under copyright. Generally, copyrighted materials/publications cannot be copied verbatim on Wikipedia. Unless I can prove that these lyrics are in the public domain, I will delete them in a few days. Andrea Parton 04:34, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
You got the quote wrong. She sings:
"That one is only poor
Only if they choose to be"
And thats confirmed in the lyric reference site quoted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.79.88.255 (talk) 21:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Missing final verse
[edit]This description in the section "Missing final verse" is no longer accurate: "a final verse that has never been included on any of Parton's recordings of the song"
The verse is included in the 2017 album I Believe in You, though read rather than sung. It can be heard at this YouTube link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RfqAwAT7xE
I have not edited before. I leave it to someone else to potentially update the text, heading, and cite an appropriate source if needed. LadyHonoriaLyndon (talk) 22:48, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
