shooting down of Mustang
[edit]I have removed the following: "An American p51 mustang plane was said to have been shot down nearby by accident, but is believed by many to be a rumour." After 12 months, there was no supporting reference. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 08:06, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Content of Most Haunted episodes
[edit]The article contains a description of the contents of the Coalhouse Fort episodes of the TV programme Most Haunted. This description is sourced to a Youtube video of the programme. The programme itself cannot be a secondary source for the content of the programme and in view of the Ofcom ruling, is not in any case a reliable source for information about hauntings. Although the content contains words such as "claimed" and "allegedly", I believe it is unencyclopedic and should be removed. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 07:21, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- No one seems to object, so I will move all the stuff about Most Haunted to the article about the TV programme. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 08:21, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Not Napoleonic
[edit]While there was a 1795 battery here, it was obliterated when this fort was built, so I don't think it should be in the Napoleonic Forts category Vicarage (talk) 11:00, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Moat?
[edit]What's the explanation for the moat(?) that's located on the fort's eastern side? Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 00:52, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
- Partly drainage, I suspect (it's pretty marshy on that side), but its military function would presumably be to block assaults from would-be invaders landing on the river shore. Prioryman (talk) 20:38, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
