The tape
[edit]Years later, Gordon sent Kottke a cassette tape of his own rearranged version of Kottke's "Driving the Year Nail."
I seem to recall having read, at the time, that the tape in question *was* Kottke's recording with a bass part added. I can't find a cite either way, so haven't changed it, but perhaps someone has confirmation one way or the other? Jgm 12:17, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- I recall reading that also, although I don't remember where.... I further recall that Kottke said that he didn't like Gordon's bass playing on "Driving the Year Nail," or anything about the other songs that Gordon sent him, but that Gordon's idiosyncratic use of a single word in his accompanying letter convinced Kottke to collaborate with him. It might have been in Spin or Rolling Stone, maybe. JSC ltd (talk) 05:43, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
