In 1985 the WPBSA pressured the BBC to sack Clive, which they apparently agreed to do. Clive had been forewarned by David Vine, and his agent was able to get the decision reversed. Clive Everton, recalling David Vine. StephenJPC (talk) 13:09, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to Everton, he was sacked at the instigation of Jack Karnehm, the Chairman of the Billiards and Snooker Control Council (as the Billiards Association and Control Council had renamed itself) for "giving professionals publicity" by including picture of four professional players on the cover of Billiards and Snooker at a time when the Billiards and Snooker Control Council and the professional players were in dispute over the World Billiards Championship. - long sentence, consider revising Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski ^{(talk • contribs)} 21:31, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
