Technical-terminology dense

I'm no Clinical Engineer. Reading through the article, it's hard to understand what is written, especially in the first paragraphs. I don't feel qualified to summarize this jargon accurately, but I would love to see someone else do so. Thanks friends <3 PocketsForBirds (talk) 19:03, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved this article from Clinical Engineering to clinical engineering because I think these kinds of articles shouldn't be capitalized, see for example software engineering and genetic engineering. Fetofs Hello! 13:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this section (clinical engineering, CE) really needs some meat. The article states that this career is sometimes seen as the equivalent of biomedical equipment technologist (BMET), which is currently a very robust section in Wikipedia. However, CE in this section has very little explaining what the field really does and is responsible for. If the author(s) feel that the terms CE and BMET are indeed equivalent, perhaps bringing them together into one section is a solution that may work. CEs do work in similar settings as BMETs, but their roles are typically quite different...with the former being recognized by the major relevant professional organizations as an established branch of Biomedical Engineering. Technicians do perform valuable work and I would not comment on whose is more or less "important," but it is nonetheless distinguished from that of engineers. Of course, as with many branches of engineering, sometimes in practice they can spend portions of their time doing "technician" type work, and conversely, sometimes technicians contribute to design or analysis in ways that could be deemed engineering.
