A map of Middlesex County showing the Cliffwood Beach portion of Old Bridge Township is needed. It should be just like the Monmouth County map already included. --Pat (talk) 10:03, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People are using the current map to justify removing Old Bridge and Middlesex County from this article. Someone who is capable in constructing maps is needed to create an accurate map for this page showing the portions of both townships, in Middlesex and Monmouth counties, that belong to this place. --Pat (talk) 10:37, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cliffwood Beach Exists in Two Counties

[edit]

While the US Census Bureau deigned to create a Census-designed Place out of the Monmouth County half of Cliffwood Beach, the census is not the whole story. Cliffwood Beach in Monmouth County is a section of Aberdeen Township, and Cliffwood Beach in Middlesex County is part of Old Bridge Township. Together they are two parts of a whole neighborhood. Reliance on the US Census Bureau alone for a definition of the boundaries and population of Cliffwood Beach is convenient but a mistake. Signs on the highway say otherwise. I've lived here more than forty years. I can't post a link to this 2014 Old Bridge Twp resolution due to its URL format, so you will have to search for it yourself. "TOWNSHIP OF OLD BRIDGE, Resolution Supporting the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Second Round Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery Funds Allocated To New Jersey That Includes $100 million For New Jersey Blue Acres Buyout Program, A Portion Of Which Will Be Utilized For Buy Outs of Storm Damaged Homes In The Cliffwood Beach and Laurence Harbor Sections of Old Bridge Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey." For another example, see this flood warning published by Old Bridge Township referencing its Cliffwood Beach section of town. [1] They have a 33 acre Cliffwood Beach Waterfront Park, not to be confused with Veterans Park across the creek in Cliffwood Beach, Aberdeen Township. The mayor of Old Bridge accompanied the governor of NJ to visit storm damaged areas of the township, including Cliffwood Beach, in 2013. Again the link is prohibited by Wikipedia due to its structure, but here is the text. "GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS FIELD VISIT TO STORM DAMAGED LOCATIONS. On Thursday, February 21, 2013, Mayor Henry and OEM Coordinator Dominic Cicio accompanied Hurricane Sandy Regional Director Richard Rebisz on a tour of the storm damaged areas in Cliffwood Beach, Laurence Harbor and South Old Bridge (Hurricane Irene)." Visit the Old Bridge Township website to conduct the necessary searches. [2] Pnoble805 (talk) 09:19, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
