Local Color

[edit]

Local color, a journalistic tradition, is often good journalism but most instances of it are not part of the sum of human knowledge. If the trivial coincidence i've removed to here,

The owner of Jack at the time of the film was Henry Longhurst, golf broadcaster and writer. His wife Claudine recalled that some months later she and Henry were flying across the Atlantic when The Black Windmill was shown as the in-flight film. "So there we were halfway across the Atlantic watching our home on film!"

becomes part of the action of an encyclopedic film or the plot of a novel (not just their local color), document the event above and the reference to it, and consider putting all of that into the cultural refs section.

That anecdote can be found on the Jack & Jill Windmill Society's website, which is probably where Local Colour got it from. Mjroots (talk) 21:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Car Parking

[edit]

Why is a citation needed for the car park? There is a car park. I am sitting in it writing this. RicardoJuanCarlos (talk) 12:16, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
