"Other works" addition
[edit]I have added http://www.shirky.com/writings/group_enemy.html to "other works" as this is a seminal paper of group dynamics, still widely referenced. ++Lar: t/c 18:51, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
expansion
[edit]This person will be a presenter at Wikimania 2006 and thus lots of people may be looking here for more information. Now would be a great time to work on this article or expand it if possible! Thanks Brassratgirl 05:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Chronology Issue
[edit]"The Electronic Frontier Foundation was founded in July 1990 " (from EFF article)
"The World Wide Web was created in 1989 " (from WWW article)
"Before there was a Web, Shirky was vice-president of the New York chapter of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, " (from Shirky article)
This doesn't quite compute. Wanderer57 (talk) 11:41, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Views section
[edit]This section was just expanded by User:ElzbthMllr with an extended analysis of Here Comes Everybody. This would appear to be an original synthesis of Shirky's view thus perhaps WP:OR but, more to the point, doesn't it belong in the book's article rather than here? Chris anderson quote
[edit]This quote was vandalized, wasnt caught until now. Not sure why he would be such a target, but if its repeated, we could discuss some form of protection.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 06:19, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Crash
[edit]What's up with the crash? Is it even relevant? --Mortense (talk) 21:15, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Shirky Principle
[edit]Perhaps the Shirky Principle section should mention how it is basically a restatement of Albert Einstein's famous quote: "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/a/alberteins121993.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.51.122.18 (talk) 13:09, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Micropayments
[edit]Shirky wrote the classic essays on why micropayments can't and won't work as the solution to earning money from the contents of web pages. The Case Against Micropayments in 2000 is one example (https://archive.is/LFUW4). This needs a section on his page, with links to archived versions of the essays in their original form, which are getting harder and harder to find with a web search.
