People with articles in foreign language Wikipedias

[edit]

I don't agree with the blanket removal of people with articles in foreign language Wikipedias as was done in this edit. The goal is to limit the list to notable people. Using the criteria of having a Wikipedia article, where notability must be demonstrated for the existence of the article, is an easy criteria to use towards that goal. I don't see why Notability can only be demonstrated with the English language Wikipedia. What rule says that Foreign language Wikipedias cannot be used for demonstrating notability?
In the specific case of the removed names, the Indonesian Wikipedia has an equivalent criteria to the English Wikipedia's WP:Notability. Up the Walls (talk) 15:45, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
