Name

The conservation area is called Claireville (two e's) so it should be renamed. --142.150.48.163 02:21, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right; see also the discussion at Claireville, Ontario. The page has been moved. Mindmatrix 18:00, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In May and June the city of Toronto released two new maps and they both show the name of the park as Clairville. (??) A Hiking map and a biking map. Both the paper versions and the PDFs on their site say Clairville. There is a road that runs along side the park and ITS name is Claireville. weird. Hubert Derus 02:58, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right; Toronto does refer to it as Clairville. It seems to be in the minority, though, as google searches indicate greater usage of Claireville (~10000 hits, see this) versus Clairville (~500 hits - see this). I'm going to try to contact various naming authorities to try to clear this up, but I suspect the version with the 'e' is correct. Mindmatrix 15:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Check with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Since they own the place they should be the final arbiter. --70.51.142.223 15:53, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
