Tampa bay

[edit]

the tampa bay devil rays are located on st. petersburg, not tampa, so why is that no problem? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.51.102 (talkcontribs) 08:21, 4 October 2005

Because the team doesn't claim to be from Tampa, just from Tampa Bay (which is the name of the bay St. Petersburg is located on). Matt Yeager 05:30, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Current event header

[edit]

Jan. 16, 2006 - Because the court case between the Angels and the city of Anaheim is under way, there should be a heading above this article that it "covers a current event." I've seen a standardized Wikipedia heading for this but don't know how to enter it; can somebody help out?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.126.238.10 (talkcontribs) 04:23, 17 January 2006

Appeal?

[edit]

Removing this obviously outdated reference:

The Angels will not file a response until June, and a decision is not expected before the end of the 2007 baseball season.

Anybody have any direct references to the appeal? Did the Angels in fact file a response in June 2007, and has anything new been decided? SixFourThree (talk) 15:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree[reply]

GA Review

[edit]
This review is transcluded from Talk:City of Anaheim v. Angels Baseball LP/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Hello. I am going to have to fail this article's GA nomination. Here is a list of the major issues I found with the article:

  • The main problem with this article is the lack of referencing throughout the article. There are absolutely no references before the Appeal section, which is over 2/3 of the way through the article.
  • The image of Curt Pringle is non-free use, and, in my opinion, does not improve the reader's understanding of the article in such a way as to be necessary. The image should be removed.
  • Web references need to be formatted with a title, publisher and access date at the very least. They should never be left as bare links.

These are the major problems that popped out to me on a first go-through. I have not reviewed prose, completeness or NPOV, so this is not necessarily an exhaustive list. Please let me know if you have any questions. Dana boomer (talk) 01:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The image File:WingedANA.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
