Generations

I have tagged the Generations paragraphs as unreferenced - can someone provide refs for these?

Also I am not sure that the Generations sections really should be in the company article. I believe that they more properly belong on the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 articles, as they refer to aircraft design changes and not a change to the company itself.

In doing some further research on the Cirrus website and also in FLYING magazine it is apparent that the information in the "generations" section not only should be under the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 articles, but that the way it is presented here is quite incorrect. Presently it seems to imply that there is an SR20 G3, which isn't the case. Only the SR22 is available in the G3 model. This section really should be moved to the aircraft model articles, rewritten and referenced.

I have added a G3 section to the SR22 article and will now remove this section from the Cirrus Design article.

According to http://www.cirrusdesign.com/legal/, "Linking to the cirrusdesign.com website is permissible only upon approval of the Copyright Agent" (thus why I nowiki'd it), so can we even have the link to their site in the External links section? howcheng {chat} 22:33, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I am no lawyer, but I believe that the company's legal statement is in conflict with the "Fair Use" provisions of US copyright law, especially where an encyclopedia such as this is concerned. It is similar to saying that "no person shall look at an aircraft manufactured by this company in flight without expressed written permission of the company." You can say it, but the law would never uphold it. Obviously all the search engines link to their website under "Fair Use" provisions or else no one could find the website! - Ahunt (talk) 23:47, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Flight Into Known Icing

Cirrus has received certification of the 2009 SR-22 for flight into known icing. The "as of 2007, the SR-22 is not certified for flight into known icing" should be updated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.62.4.16 (talk) 12:10, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Actually they are now available equipped for known icing, but they are not yet certified for it! Check company press release: CIRRUS AIRCRAFT ANNOUNCES KNOWN ICE PROTECTION AVAILABILITY FOR SR22 AND TURBO AIRCRAFT MODELS. I'll change this when it is actually certified. - Ahunt (talk) 13:53, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
I did add some clarification of this to this article and the Cirrus SR22 article as well. I will keep an eye on this issue and change it when the certification is complete. - Ahunt (talk) 14:02, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
