The author of this page is a hobbyist, so this doesn't count as a reliable source, but it can be helpful as a quick reference while working on articles.

Clarifications

[edit]

Hi @Maryshelagh: I see you have left a who tag and a clarify tag. Looking at the clarify tag first. What exactly is wrong with "the device costs ℛℳ57.5 Reichsmarks, equivalent to $600.00 at 1945 conversion rates"? scope_creepTalk 09:13, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I was looking for clarification in the conversion rate, as earlier in the article there are conversions of RM to dollars and this specific one does not seem to match, as the dollar amount seems higher. Was wondering if there was a decimal out of place in either of the numbers. Maryshelagh (talk) 19:13, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maryshelagh: I see what you mean. Its seems the mistake hasn't been spotted until now. I'll fix it. scope_creepTalk 22:14, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Maryshelagh (talk) 22:19, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maryshelagh: What about the who tag. Is that equally as bad, something that has been missed? scope_creepTalk 22:27, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In that note I felt the sentence needed clarification in terms of who thought that it was inconceivable that the insecurities in the systems were missed. Does this sentence mean modern historians, or members of the Army High Command at the time, or TICOM after the war? Maryshelagh (talk) 22:32, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see you what mean. Bit of a proper clarification needed there. I'll need to find the document. It been donkeys since I wrote this. scope_creepTalk 22:35, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maryshelagh: I removed the small block at the beginning so it now says, "The OKW/Chi and the German armed forces failed to understand how insecure the system was" which reflects the first chapter of the document. scope_creepTalk 23:23, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thanks!! Maryshelagh (talk) 03:45, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
