Revision
[edit]This article could use some love. I'm about to start working on it. 204.65.209.59 (talk) 23:21, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Pacifism?
[edit]Does the church still teach or practice pacifism? Might be a valuable addition. 66.191.19.217 (talk) 01:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good question. See the article on Alvin York. Rammer (talk) 04:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Membership classes
[edit]A rather strange edit was made by user 66.191.158.83 and later removed by user Materialscientist. I agree with the removal, but wanted to state on the Talk page that the person who made the edit may referring to the process of "confirmation" common in many denominations of a Wesleyan flavor where a baptism of a young child or infant is "confirmed" via successful completion of a class, catechism, etc., followed by the minister and/or church's agreement. The user may also be mistaken that the CCCU equates church membership with salvation -- a common misinterpretation of Restorationist teachings (e.g. the Churches of Christ) on the great importance of joining a local church. The now-removed edit was as follows:
"They do put great importance on church membership asking non-believers to membership classes before salvation. Explaining that you may not be a member of the church if you drink or smoke. Many in other Christian denominations believe salvation comes first and then church membership." 2602:30A:C04E:46F0:FD18:6652:FBC:4181 (talk) 20:08, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation
[edit]I know it can be done, but I don't know how to do it; could somebody add a line at the top of the article stating, "This article is about the branch of METHODISM. For the Church of Christ, click here." It would possibly help. 199.102.184.41 (talk) 20:39, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
