Cherman-American

[edit]

Not particularly relevant to this article, but I'm truly annoyed at people who add the categories, German-American and Italian-American, to articles without providing a citation and documentation. Here was yet another example of "geneaology inferred from surname." I'm an American of German and distant Italian ancestry. If you infer ethnic origin from the sound/appearance/spelling of the last name of an American, but don't have a reliable source to back it, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT INCLUDING IT IN A WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE.
