can we get rid of the weight column?

[edit]

Currently the weight column is less than half filled, and the filled rows are half kg, half lb. It's currently a mess. Moreover, it's Chromebox to begin with, no one cares about the weight. Let's agree to get rid of it. --Kaledomo (talk) 02:44, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it should go. - Ahunt (talk) 19:55, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Chromeboxes can run other OS with custom firmware

[edit]

I made some edits on this topic recently that were reverted, on the basis that the source of the information was a primary reference. In defense of my edits, the fact that Chromeboxes can run other operating systems is absolutely true. Evidence can be found in the voluminous documentation at http://mrchromebox.tech and I've had direct, personal experience installing his custom firmware on several models of Chromeboxes (enough to validate and verify the claim). Youtube videos also exist on this topic. How can this information be integrated into the article and be maintained, since it is merely a statement of verifiable fact? --Danimations (talk) 12:24, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the edits because mr.chromebox.tech, which seems to promote a specific set of firmware and utilities, doesn't qualify as a reliable source. Your adding a sentence to the lede on what seems a minor point further struck me as an attempt at promotion. (I realize that's just an inference.) And of course, your direct personal experience and YT videos don't meet WP:V. I'm looking for the usual: coverage in the technical press by reporters without an apparent vested interest that makes the case this is a significant aspect of Chromeboxes.
