A lot of bios about Christopher Lawrence say that he was awarded an "International Emmy for the Performing Arts". I expect this was self-authored, as it also appears in bios of books he has authored. We are currently using this source. This ABC press release says it was "New York, 1989", and it does look like the 17 Annual International Emmy Awards was held in New York on 20 November 1989.[1] However our page International Emmy does not have "Performing Arts" as one of its categories, and I cant see any relevant entry at List of International Emmy Award winners, which has entries going back to 1967 and matches the official list of past winners quite closely.(However, International Emmy says it was established in the early 1970s)
Thanks for that. But Christopher doesn't mention La bohème; where did that come from? Still, I did find a mention of a televised production of that opera in that year by the Victoria State Opera (VSO) with Kiri te Kanawa here, but nothing further. Mists of time ... -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:37, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I found La Boheme by putting '1989 international Emmy arts programming Australian opera" in to google which came up with these two online CVs [2][3] which correlate with the story of that production being filmed for ABC TV and winning the award. Neither is a Reliable Source for footnoting purposes but it's fair to assume that this is the same opera that Mr Lawrence is referring to. Wittylama22:14, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
PS: @Wittylama:: While Christopher Lawrence's Twitter response to you pointed to this page for a 1988 production of La bohème, I only now noticed (I have the DVD) that he is also credited for Sound Production of Opera Australia's legendary 1993/94 recording of the same opera. He is a busy boy. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:54, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
