Attucks - FDR Postings
[edit]It's complete nonsense.
I have in front of me Brian Sibley's excellent biography on Rev. W.V. Awdry titled 'The Thomas the Tank Engine Man' ISBN 0 434 96909 5 Heinemann, 1995
There is absolutely no reference to FDR in this comprehensive biography.
During this period that Attucks think's W.V. Awdry was hob-nobbing with FDR he was in actual fact:-
In 1939 W.V. Awrdy had started his second Curacy at Great Cheverell, and was busy with curate duties and once the war had started was the billeting officer for children evacuated from London.
Due to his Pacifist believe's he was soon looking for another position.
Mountain Diesels and New Engines
[edit]Can Christopher Awdry publish the book if I sent the letter to him? Also, can ERTL release Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric, Eric, Norman, Betty, Phyllis, George, Billy, Bonnie, Maisy, Malfoy, Carl, Judy, Cassidy, Kate, Todd, Grover, Nate, Rover and Hector? Felix 15:36, 20 July 2006.
- As many people have tried to tell you on your own talk page it is highly unlikely and probably impossible that Christopher Awdry will write that book for manyt reasons the main one being that he no longer has any control over the Railway series and also ERTL will not release models of engines that have not been licensed by the trademark owners of Thomas and Friends. Penrithguy 21:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Not to worry, the letter will get Christopher to understand why the other engines are reverted. Felix 20:50, 22 July 2006
- Felix, Ertl has closed, and CA is probably busy. And who the heck are those characters you want Ertl to make? Don't tell me: it's fan-fic, which is inappropiate on WP. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 19:14, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Note the date of the comment you are replying to! Also note that Felix has been effectively inactive on WP since mid-2007, so this is of little concern now. But, yes, it was fan-fic, and we did have 'fun' reining-in his 'enthusiasm'.

"Thomas & Victoria"
[edit]Judging from what may be read on WH Smith and other bookshop's sites, it appears Awdry has written a new Railway Series book, Thomas and Victoria. Should this be added to the page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.145.242.99 (talk • contribs) 20:59, 13 May 2007.
- The short answer is: "the matter is in hand"...
- Before the book appeared in online sellers' stores, WikiProject Thomas members were maintaining a strict line of avoiding mentioning the book, at least until it was officially announced (see WP:THOMAS/FAQ). The main reason was because the available information, whilst from sources trusted by WP:THOMAS members, nevertheless was unsuitable for inclusion in Wikipedia (for a whole host of reasons). Now that the existence of the book is in the public domain, Project members are considering a phased application of the appropriate information to comply with WP rules and guidelines on future events.
- But thank you for the reminder... :o) -- EdJogg 12:43, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Christopher Awdry and his father
[edit]It does appear that with all the edits on this page, erroneous death information that was actually about his father was being kept. I've added a reference to an interview conducted a few months ago with Christopher Awdry, which includes a picture of how he looks 'today'. Now that this article is protected for a while, though, hopefully any other errors can get sorted out as well. Thanks all, and cheers! --‖ Ebyabe talk - Union of Opposites ‖ 01:55, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Age Change
[edit]Excuse me, I see that Christopher Awdry is still 75 years old. His age is supposed to change when his birthday comes on July 2nd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.106.255 (talk) 00:36, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- The article says he was born 2 July 1940 and is 75 years old. What is wrong? - SummerPhDv2.0 04:59, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
