GA Review

[edit]

Hello. I will be doing the GA review for this article. I've only scanned the article thus far, but here are some initial suggestions:

  • WP:DASH: made sure endashes go between dates and ranges of numbers. Emdashes go in text.
  • Make sure songs are in quotes and album titles are in italics. When scanning, I noticed at least one (Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur) that was incorrect. Green tickYOlliyeah (talk) 11:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Need to be correctly formatted using Template:cite web: 3, 30, 11, 152, 138 (the date is funky), 106, 107, 83 Green tickYOlliyeah (talk) 11:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Something is def. wrong with ref 22: "^ Dominguez, Pier (2002). Christina Aguilera: A Star is Made: The Unauthorized parties and in talent competitions, which she usually won. Aguilera soon gained media Biography. Amber Books. ISBN 0-9702224-5-9." - The title is messed up with text, it seems. It also needs a page number. • I feel like I've heard that she thinks of Madonna as an influence at least 100 times, so I think it is possible to find a replacement for the dead link. Green tickYOlliyeah (talk) 11:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • The lead is supposed to summarize the main points of the entire article. Consider adding info about her life, philanthropy, vocal ability, film/acting, etc. The lead (for an article this size) can be up to four full paragraphs.
  • Consider de-linking the dates in the article. The MoS was recently changed so that having all the dates unlinked was fine, as long as it is consistent throughout the article. It is up to you, but it is a trend at FAC recently to delink the dates to "let the valuable links breath" and "reduce the sea of blue".Green tickYOlliyeah (talk) 08:28, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • A think a general copyedit would also do some good. See if you can get a someone to help out.

That's it for now. You'll have seven days to make these initial changes. Nikki311 03:29, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Additional comments

Thank you. --Efe (talk) 12:03, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the effort, but the seven days are up, and so much more still needs to be done. I'd suggest getting a copyeditor or starting a peer review to iron out MoS problems and tighten up the text. Great work with the improvement so far! Good luck! Nikki311 00:07, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
