Christian religious holidays

[edit]

Christmas

[edit]

... It has been reported that the Sultan of Selangor and his consort, the Prime Minister as well as assorted cabinet ministers will be in attendance. It will also be televised on TV in a majority Muslim country...

This was in year 2004. So can somebody verify if the Sultan of Selangor ACTUALLY went for the event and make the appropriate changes to that statement.

Christianity within ethnic groups

[edit]

What do the numbers beside the ethnic groups mean? Are they the number of Christians in those ethnic group? What about other ethnic groups such as Iban, Kadazan, Chinese and Indians which have more Christians?

Banned Literature

[edit]

I would like to know if the ban on the Alkitab is verifiable. The Alkitab in Bahasa Indonesia was banned in 1981 under the Internal Security Act as per the Warta Kerajaan ( His Majesty’s Government Gazette ) Jil.26 No.2, 21hb Januari 1982, Tambahan No.3 Perundangan (A). P.U. (A) 15. p.21. but the use of the Bahasa Malaysia Alkitab was just restricted rather than banned. The ban on the Bup Kudus was also subsequently rescinded by the Ministry of Internal Security ref. Further details on this incidences can be sourced from the paper; Towards mutual understanding or religious intolerance? published by Doshima University in Japan.

So while it is true that many Christian books in the Indonesian language has been banned and there is an official "guideline" on terms in Malay that cannot be used by the non-Muslim community, the tone of the Literature section of this article needs to amended to reduce the POV. -- Bob K 14:22, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers in brackets

[edit]

What do the numbers in brackets after the names of ethnic groups mean? Are they the number of people in that ethnic group who are Christians? I doubt that because the numbers are small.Wai Hong (talk) 09:01, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Christians among various ethnic groups in Malaysia

[edit]

I think this section is a bit superfluous. Almost every ethnic group in Malaysia is represented in the Christian church. I'd like to suggest that unless more verifiable information is available (ie. a breakdown of Christian adherents in Malaysia by ethnicity), that this section be deleted. - Bob K | Talk 09:15, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

England and malaysia

[edit]

christianity in malaysia was spread via british missionaries just like dutch missionaries in indonesia. A sense of colonization. Is that true?2404:8000:1027:85F6:D934:8E29:B5A4:71E6 (talk) 17:24, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
