Proposed move to Christian Oftedal
[edit]This page should be under Christian S. Oftedal. His full name was indeed Christian Stephansen Oftedal, but the middle name was not commonly used. See for instance http://ask.bibsys.no/ask/action/result?cql=bd+%3D+%22Christian+Oftedal%22&aktivKilde=biblio&sortering=sortdate-&treffPrSide=10&side=1&kilde=biblio, a list of his published works at a Norwegian library database.--Barend (talk) 12:59, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- Question: If his middle name was not used, why not moving to Christian Oftedal and stating his full name in the article like many other bios do? Sebastian scha. (talk) 01:35, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Answer: As you see from the link to the library database, it would seem that he most commonly used the form Christian S. Oftedal, a format sometimes used by Norwegian public figures, analogous to Carl I. Hagen and Jan P. Syse.--Barend (talk) 10:26, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, but even you searched "... d+%3D+%22Christian+Oftedal%22&aktivKi ..." (note: bold by editor) for "Search result: Christian Oftedal" ,-) And I allways thought article names are not so important, because of redirects. Don't mind. Have a nice day. Sebastian scha.
